Breakfast of champions

Breakfast has become my favorite meal. Our granola is made in Biggleswade, England. Probably by elves or hobbits or something that lives in a tree. The milk is from an Ulster dairy. The yoghurt is from nearby Clandeboye Estate, which grazes Holsteins and Jerseys. And the best part: wheaten bread, which is made from buttermilk and a particular kind of nubbly wheat. Every shop has its own, locally made brand. We're trying all of them to figure out our favorite.
I was a bit surprised to notice this morning that my "Hedgerow Conserve" jam came from Belgium!

This is not to say everything we eat is local. I bought a pack of four veggies to use in a stirfry. Two were UK grown and two were from Kenya and Mozambique. I guess veggies that are sourced in Latin America for the U.S. are sourced instead from Africa here. It would be very interesting to learn what WalMart pays growers vs. Tesco.
