Borris, part one

On Friday I headed to Inistioge in County Kilkenny with Ann O'Dwyer and her friend Susan (roughly three hours south of Belfast). First stop was Altamont Garden not too far from our BnB. Lots and lots of lovely roses.

There was a lake covered with lily pads, a wide river, formal gardens and a lovely nursery and cafe. Ann knows this part of the world well so she was our tour guide. Below a laburnum arch.

And the three musketeers.

A walled garden, which creates a microclimate allowing a range of plantings.

Below, our BnB. We unpacked then went for a lovely walk along the River Nore.
