Back on top of the world
Is this blog beginning to sound like the writings of a bipolar person? Then again, aren’t we all a bit bipolar. Today I had lunch at Belvoir Golf Club with four choir members: Violet (lady captain at the golf club); her partner Anne (partner as in long-time civil partner--no legal GLBT marriages here); Monica, world traveller and designer of health care systems; and Isabella Evangelisti who, in addition to having a fantastic name, is an art historian, the wife of our minister, and the person behind the joy at the church (fanciful decorations, sumptuous dinners, lovely flower arrangements).
In this photo, they are standing on three different levels, so you wouldn’t know that Monica and Isabella are tall and Violet and Anne (in the middle) not so much.
All are sopranos except Violet, who is like my guide dog. I can’t read music so I just listen to her and follow. She has a lovely voice and when she isn’t at choir practice I’m lost. The other altos don’t have her ear for the tune.
Here’s the view from our lunch table (the restaurant is very originally called The View):
I took these photos on my phone and I can’t figure out how to rotate them. It looks fine on my desktop then spins once I upload it. (Note to self: don’t take verticals.) Whatever. What I love about the view is the Belfast hills in the background. Above is the 18th hole, I think this is the 17th.
