Another lighthouse + Giro

Saturday we went to Whitehead, which is on the opposite coast from North Down, where we live. It looks like this:

We hiked up a hill that took us to a lighthouse that once guided the ships coming and going through Belfast Lough:

And then it was off to the races: The Giro course passed nearby so we joined the cheering throngs.

When the peleton sped by, I was shocked by the wind. It was like having a tractor trailer pass you doing 70 miles an hour as you stood on the sidewalk. The cyclists covered 136 miles averaging 25 mph by the point we saw them. Understandably, they looked pretty haggard:
