Adieu Donegal
Friday morning I walked Paddy then finished my book about a young lad trying to escape multi-generational trauma on the mean streets of West Belfast. Then went to the Olde Glen Bar, which allows dogs. Here's the gable wall:
I met a woman from New York who walked into that bar 25 years ago and met a local man and married him. She lives up the road and offered to watch Paddy the next time I visited.
After a lazy afternoon, I met Julie at Doe Castle and we walked at the Boardwalk again. Talking about everything and nothing, as we do.
Saturday we walked at Tramore beach again then I met with Siobhan Bigger and caught up with the exciting life of her daughter, the international surfer. Who has just spent a few months in Peru teaching surfing in a small village.
Sunday morning I took Paddy for a long walk and swim on Marblehead beach then drove home, visiting Mary on the way. I got home around 3pm and was on the beach by 4:30 pm preparing for a match.
Monday morning I played Chris Anderson in the first round of the McKee Cup. I won it two years ago and went out in the first round last year. This year I have survived the first round at least, winning on the 14th hole. I was wrecked the rest of the day!
