Across the street
I adore the mules of Ireland. Unfortunately I had switched from my digital camera to my phone by now, and the phone can’t seem to light things properly. I loved the expression on this guy’s face.
I’d describe the expression as curious and friendly.
Today I drove to Derry, where I visited Mr. Bigger (father of the three sibs I saw yesterday) and then Mary Richmond, who cleaned our house when we lived in Ireland. She was watching a TV programme about the Nolan sisters, once a musical group. One of them has cancer and the camera is following her through her treatment. Mary has lost her husband and sister to cancer and now her brother has it. I’m not sure what she gets out of watching this woman talk about the effects of radiation and chemo. I wouldn’t think someone would want to relive that experience, even remotely.
